Cage lifting hook for reinforcement cages to improve safety on construction sites

  • Innovative solution for safe lifting and lowering reinforcement cages with a load capacity of up to 8 tons
  • Reinforcement cage releases automatically after lowering, without dangerous intervention
  • Standard version includes two hooks, adaptable for heavier reinforcement cages

Munich, Germany – Equipment for special foundation engineering has to perform reliably throughout its entire life cycle. Apart from a constant supply of spart parts, it is particularly important that the machinery is regularly maintained and serviced. The Parts & Service specialists at BAUER Maschinen GmbH understand the significance of these factors. At bauma 2025 in Munich, they showcased, among other innovations, an impressive new solution for enhancing safety on construction sites: the lifting hook for reinforcement cages including chain sling.

Safe lifting and lowering reinforcement cages

The new cage lifting hook has a maximum hook load of 8 t and facilitates the easy, safe handling of reinforcement cages. he hook allows for the effortless pickup of the reinforcement cage by the steel hoop. A special lug serves as a lifting aid. The reinforcement cage is securely fixed in place on the hook by inserting a screw. Once the cage is lowered in the intended borehole, the screws can be removed from the hook conveniently and without the danger of reaching in. After lowering the reinforcement cage, the hooks release automatically due to the dead weight and swing into the center. This prevents employees from having to perform work near suspended loads – a huge bonus in terms of safety. Two hooks are used in the standard version, but the number of hooks can be adjusted for heavier reinforcement cages.

Toolbox for indispensable assistance

A real must-have on drilling sites is the toolbox from Parts & Service. The tools included in this kit greatly simplify installation and dismantling as well as the cleaning of drilling tools. The toolbox contains a speed pinner as well as a special ergonomically flexible extractor for inserting and removing hollow spring pins, along with an extraction fork for easy dismantling of round shank chisels and an expulsion mandrel for removing round shank chisels with a broken head. An alloy hammer was included as a universal tool for safe installation of wear parts. It can be used to insert round shank chisels without damaging the hard metal tips. A roofing hammer is also included for changing drilling tools. Cleaning tools, a depth sounder or round steel setting-out pegs to measure out the borehole center complete the kit.
