BAUER Maschinen Group at Bauma in Shanghai: The latest specialist foundation engineering technology for the Asian market

Shanghai, China – Although Bauma China only reported around 80,000 visitors this November, a drop of more than 60% compared with the event two years ago, the organizers were still satisfied. Ultimately, the exhibition also sent an important signal for the construction equipment industry as the largest event of its kind since the outbreak of the pandemic. “There were fewer guests at this Bauma than in previous years, particularly due to the lack of international visitors, which was of course due to the current situation. Nevertheless, this meant that we were able to take more time for individual customers and potential clients, and engage in highly valuable conversations,” remarks Marc Scheib, Executive Director of Bauer Equipment Shanghai.

At two stands, visitors were able to personally experience both established technologies and brand-new specialist foundation engineering technology from the BAUER Maschinen Group. For instance, the BAUER BG 28 BT 70 was presented as a mid-range high-performance drilling rig with tested V-kinematics featuring a single-layer hoist with reduced cable wear. This rig is perfect for Kelly drilling. Its high torque enables single-cased drilling. The BG 28 was displayed at the exhibition along with a casing oscillator that enables deeper cased boreholes up to a diameter of 1,500 mm.

With the BG 42 BT 110, the BAUER Maschinen Group unveiled a true global innovation: Equipped with the latest Bauer technology, the rig achieves optimal results in the construction of deep piles with large diameters. The BG 42 is available in three different configuration levels.

The range of Bauer drilling rigs on display was rounded off by the BG 20 H BT 50 as a Low Head variant. The H-kinematics provide a wide mast outreach and achieve rapid construction times. The Low Head variant reaches a total height of just 11.4 m, providing ideal conditions for work in tight spaces such as under bridges or close to specially protected sites. Assembly as a standard height variant is easily feasible. In general, the BG 20 H is one of the smallest units of Bauer equipment that is constructed in China.

The BAUER GB 50 grab was also presented to the professional audience as a Low Head version. Thanks to its total height of just 5.8 m, as well as the steering plates and TD4 turning device of the new DHG/LT hydraulic grab, it is predestined for work under extremely tight conditions. Finally, the Parts & Service division of Bauer Maschinen sparked a lively interest among stand visitors, focusing on the topics of wear parts, services and drilling tools.

“All in all, it was of course far from ‘business as usual’ at Bauma China,” summarizes Dieter Stetter, CEO of the BAUER Far East Group. “But the exhibition is and remains one of the most important industry events for us, and as the technological leader in the field of specialist foundation engineering equipment it is crucially important to get in contact with our customers and partners – now more than ever. For this reason, we consider the event to be another resounding success.”
